Class recorded on November 21, 2022 in Nashville, TN
There are hundreds of different methods of ancestor worship and veneration, but I feel that the one that is most important is the one that calls to your family and to you. This exploration of ancestor energy invites you to gravitate toward what you saw as a child and what you continue to see practiced among your family, rather than searching through books and methodologies, hoping something will resonate. In this way, you will find a practice with meaning to you and your inner child, even if it is not the most filled with pomp and circumstance. This class is for those of you looking to connect deeply with your ancestors via their own traditions and beliefs, learn the do's and don't's of diving into your lineage, and begin exploring the personalities and preferences of your own people in order to make a connection. How do we do this? We simply ask!
**Note: If you are intending to do any uplifting ceremonies or other kinds of work for ancestors who might be Hungry Ghosts, this work should be performed outdoors. NEVER invite the energy of a Hungry Ghost into the home. It is traditional to leave offerings by a light post (for its guiding light) or in nature.
**Note: When it comes to the Holy Souls, they may also be asked to pray to God on your behalf in order to shorten their time in purgatory. The most important part is to not ask them to actually intercede themselves on your behalf in a given situation (which is similar to work with the Intranquil Spirit). Some souls can be very disturbed and are not the best judge of what it takes to help you; simply ask for prayers, if that.
